Merchandise trade by partner country
Exports and imports between reporting countries and each of their trading partners. This is the dataset that makes a destination question answerable: not "how much does this country export" but "to whom", against every counterpart rather than one.

Definitions and method
As reported to the IMF by each country. Exports are free on board and imports cost, insurance and freight, so a flow measured from the two ends does not match - the difference is freight and insurance, not an error. Counterpart codes are ISO-3 and join directly to the areas here. Loaded for every reporter in the IMF codelist, in batches, because a single whole-world request is large enough to time out.
